Kids Against Hunger Packs 250,000+ Meals!

Last weekend Kids Against Hunger continued it’s partnership with Lindenwood University, packing just over 250,000 meals in two days. This event saw more than 800 volunteers, and many businesses and churches come together to make this event a reality.

It was just last year over coffee at a McDonalds that the idea of holding a food packing event this large, hosted by a local university, and supported by people across our community, was just an idea. For the second year in a row we set our goal at 250,000 meals to be packed, and we met that goal. Our financial goal to ensure we can ship all 250,000 meals was $75,000 (.30 cents per meal). We are over 50% to goal financially, and 1 week after the event we still have funds coming in to support the shipping and delivery of this food!

This month, on November 28th, Kids Against Hunger St. Peters is joining the worldwide movement of #GivingTuesday. We all know about Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday inaugurates the holiday season. A young movement that has generated millions of dollars to organizations worldwide follows the next day, #GivingTuesday. Be sure to follow Kids Against Hunger on social media, @KAHStPeters, to see how you can be involved with #GivingTuesday, and choose Kids Against Hunger as your organization of choice to receive donations. Our prayer is whatever the final number needed to reach our fundraising goal, #GivingTuesday will allow us to complete that amount.
